<p>I&rsquo;m sure that you&rsquo;re aware that many people (including me at one point in my quest to build muscle) make the mistake of working out too frequently in the hope of stimulating more muscle growth. Well here&rsquo;s an interesting fact for you, <em>&lsquo;training too frequently actually sends your muscles into &lsquo;survival mode&rsquo; or something better known as &lsquo;catabolism&rsquo;</em>. This is actually the breakdown of muscle tissue, so quite obviously you&rsquo;re not building muscle when this happens as the tissue is actually getting smaller!</p>
<p><strong>Never Lift Too Heavy Or Too Frequently!</strong></p>
<p>I still find it amusing to go to the gym and see these guys lifting weights that are far too heavy for them, thinking that that&rsquo;s the way to get lean, ripped and build muscle mass. Well lifting heavy weights is correct to stimulate muscular growth, but not weights that are too heavy and that are usually lifted with poor form. You have to lift the right weights along with the right number of reps to stimulate muscle growth.</p>

<p>Also these guys tend to work the same muscles on a daily basis on the premise that they will gain more muscle size. Wrong!</p>
<p><strong>You Must Recover From Your Workouts</strong></p>
<p>The key to getting lean, ripped&nbsp;and shredded&nbsp;is to let your muscles fully recover from each workout, this is done with the right amount of rest and correct nutrition. This is the ONLY way that you will build muscle.</p>
<p>Remember that your muscles actually do their growing during your recovery period&rsquo;s, the only muscle size you see during and after your workouts will be &lsquo;the pump&rsquo;. This is where blood is flushed to the working muscles creating a temporary increase in size. The pump is still really great for you though as it stimulates increases in anabolic hormone that help develop muscle size during rest (and we also look good in the mirror&hellip;.right guys!), but you also need correct nutrition, rest and quality sleep after your workouts. These are the real keys to developing long term muscle size.</p>
<p>For those of you who want to know how to really build muscle&nbsp;mass in the most time effective way,&nbsp;I have just tried and reviewed Vince Delmonte&rsquo;s No Nonsense Muscle Building program and he really gets it.</p>
<p>Remember, you are unique. No one person is the same and most muscle building programs usually only cater for one type of person. It&rsquo;s also really time effective, and this is another vital key because training for too long again creates that muscle wasting catabolic effect. <p><strong>Does It Get&nbsp;My Thumbs Up?</strong></p>
<p>Of all the programs I have tried this is the one that has put more lean muscle on me&nbsp;the fastest and in the most time effective way. I was a 69kg super skinny Ironman Triathlete who is now an even faster, but leaner and more muscular 80kg Ironman Triathlete. I&rsquo;m in and out of the gym in 25 -30 minutes after a great workout, straight into my post workout nutrition and I&rsquo;m primed ready to grow.</p>
<p>The best part of my research into this was that I am now the one who&nbsp;looks &lsquo;ripped&rsquo; and when I go to the pool for swim training I&rsquo;m the one with the six pack abs being chatted up by the ladies!</p>

Between the two, perhaps the easier to deal with is overspending because you can either simply follow a more rigid budget plan or save up the whole year for the occasion. What you can&#8217;t really control as easily is the fat gain. The foods are just delicious and tempting during this season. How could you say no to them? In this article, you will learn about some practical tips on how to avoid holiday weight gain.</P><P>The first thing you have to do is condition yourself. Remember how others say it&#8217;s all in the mind? Anyway, it&#8217;s almost like that. You just have to tell yourself how crucial it is to maintain your current weight and not exceed it over the holidays-at all cost!</P><P>The second thing you need to do is stay active. The holidays will give you some time off from school or work and this means you will have some time to just slack off and bum around between the holiday gatherings. Well, before you even entertain the idea, start getting more active now. If you are enrolled in a gym, work a bit harder. If you lose some pounds, then at least you&#8217;ll have an excuse to &#8220;offset&#8221; it over the holidays. If you are not a gym buff, you can still stay active to avoid holiday weight gain. Simply take regular walks around the neighborhood for 30 minutes every day and you&#8217;ll be surprised at the result.</P><P>Thirdly, be proactive and plan smart meals for the holidays. Don&#8217;t worry, it doesn&#8217;t mean you have to suddenly become a vegan. Bear in mind that small changes can add up and make a big difference. For example, remove the skin from the turkey or steam the veggies instead of the usual casseroles. They are so simple but they can certainly help you veer away of unwanted weight gain!</P><P>Fourthly, practice portion control. Come on, don&#8217;t over-indulge just because it&#8217;s holiday. Remind yourself how important it is to eat and drink everything in moderation. It&#8217;s going to keep you leaner and healthier. It will also help you be around for the next holiday season. You are aware how high blood pressure and heart attacks can end your happiness too soon, right?</P><P>Finally, don&#8217;t give up. It&#8217;s normal that you will commit some slip-ups here and there. Drop the all-or-nothing thinking. You can&#8217;t just continue making the wrong choices just because you overate at dinner or you stayed in bed too long instead of taking that morning walk. Throwing-in the towel will not help you avoid holiday weight gain. Instead, it will just do the opposite. It will make you feel bad about yourself and you will be tempted to pig-out to overcome the sadness. Oh, this drama is certainly getting old! When you slip once, pick yourself up and start again.
